Need a break from the basic fall psl aka pumpkin spice latte? Well don't worry, I have you covered. Bright neon yellow turmeric lattes are all the rage on Instagram so I just had to join in on the fun by trying one out myself. Turmeric root, if you did not know is basically mother nature's version of Advil. I personally use it for inflammation or pms symptoms. I notice that as I am getting older I am experiencing more pain in my joints so turmeric is now a necessity on my grocery list.

One of my favorite YouTube stars is Sarah Nagel, better known as holistichabits and she thoroughly explains some of the benefits of taking turmeric and how to take it. She explains that as long as turmeric is taken only slightly warmed but not cooked, the nutritional benefits are still preserved. Coconut oil and black pepper help to increase the bioavailability of turmeric root, so my suggestion is to drink turmeric with these.
For the full recipe, watch Sarah Nagel's video on YouTube called "Turmeric & Ginger Milk Elixir." Her recipe has quite a bit of ginger, so feel free to use less ginger or none if you don't care for it.
